Rosewood Essential Oil
Rosewood Essential Oil is a personal favorite of many people, its properties include antidepressant, antiseptic, antibacterial, deodorant and a stimulant. It's no wonder people love it's mystical properties with its foresty and floral aroma. Rosewood is considered a middle base note and blends well with Lavender, Geranium, Cedarwood and Benzoin. Rosewood (along with Sandalwood) is on the endangered wood list and has been since about 2010. It should be our responsibility to find a substitute. Rosewood is excellent for skincare, it can balance dry or oily skin, is recommended for acne and actually has anti aging properties.
Rosewood Essential Oil Substitutes
Equal parts of Geranium and Cedarwood
Coriander has many of the same properties as Rosewood although it does not have that woodsy scent, mix with cedarwood or Ho Wood for a closer match.
Ho Wood has been recognized as a viable substitute however the aroma is not as deep or "mystical". It's a good quality essential oil that performs well.
I find it is closer when I mix it with a tiny amount of Geranium and Cedarwood.
