Essential Oils for a Stiff Neck
Working on a computer for hours can give you such a stiff neck! Here are some essential oils that can help reduce muscle spasms and inflammation.
Marjoram can increase blood circulation as well as reduce muscle spasms. It is considered a top note and blends well with Frankincense and Basil. Frankincense and Basil also reduce muscle spasms as well as inflammation. Lavender is an overall great choice for inflammation and muscle relaxation.
Stiff Neck Essential Oil Recipe
3 drops Sweet Marjoram Essential Oil
2 drops Frankincense Essential Oil
3 drops Basil Essential Oil or Rosemary Essential Oil
1 to 2 ounces of a carrier oil. If you are short on Sweet Almond Oil or Jojoba Oil, try Olive oil from your cupboard.
Warm the carrier oil in the microwave taking care not to get the oil too hot. Mix the Essential Oils in the warm oil and massage gently on the neck as needed.
Don't want to use oil? Mix the Essential Oils with about 1/4 cup of hot water and use on a washcloth as a warm compress.
Generally, I like to publish recipes that use what most people have on hand. Don't be afraid to experiment with what you have. Lavender, Rosemary and Eucalyptus are effective reducing pain and stiffness.
